Outside My Window ~ 10.13.2013
Outside my window…is yet another cloudy and rainy day. The rainfall pattern goes from drizzle to pouring rain to light rain to drizzle….rinse and repeat….for the 7th straight day. We did need the moisture but this has been a bit of over kill in that department. I read on Friday that we had received 4 to 6 inches of rainfall in our area…I would add about another inch and a half to that for Friday night, all day Saturday and this morning. I don’t know which end of the spectrum we are on but I will say that I had pulled the level down in my water barrels to about half before this storm and…

Outside my window…is the dawn of a new day. One of the things you have to “love” about being a dog owner is he doesn’t know the difference between a Sunday morning or a Monday morning…rise and shine at our normal 5:30 a.m. time for his morning walk. Even though I managed to put him off for a half an hour it was still dark was we walked. I see a nap in my future for today. Right now we are at 65°F with the sun just now making itself known. Outside my window…is a Monday rather than a Sunday so I have Williamsburg in my view. Currently we are at 83°F with mostly cloudy skies. The forecast for the week looks very much the same as today…. mostly sunshine and temperatures warming up to the low 90’s by mid-week. It has been quite dry, I believe the last measurable rainfall was on August 29th. I wouldn’t mind a few days of a rain…the soaking variety would be welcome…and cooler temperatures. I could possibly get my wish this Saturday for cooler with a forecast of 72°F for the high and a low of 58°F. I’m very ready for fall…summer and the heat needs to go away. I…

Outside My Window ~ 8.11.2013
Outside my window…are the gathering storm clouds. They have actually been gathering since about 7:30 this morning. There was sunshine while I walked Turbo but the clouds were beginning to build and gather. There are mostly cloudy skies with a temperature of 83°F. Factor in the 71% humidity and it feels like 88°F. Our forecast high for today is 85°F. Fortunately there is a small breeze that makes it a bit more bearable outside. We have a 60% chance of thunderstorms beginning around sunset tonight and lasting throughout the evening. It is one of those days that seems like the air is simmering until it finally must rain.
