Outside My Window ~ 12.09.2012

Outside my window…is a lot darker than when I originally intended on publishing this.  My plan was to do this a lot earlier in the day…..my plan did not come to fruition. So we will work with what we have right now.  It is about 6:30 in the evening, partly cloudy skies with a current temperature of 55°F.  Our high today was 67°F and it appears as if we are currently at our forecast low for the evening.  Tomorrow morning will see a chance for showers and a high of 70°F.  We will dip back down into the low 50’s on Tuesday and stay in the low to mid 50’s for the next week.  It looks like we will stay in that pattern until the end of the year if the forecast is correct.  Our precipitation is extremely low for the month….our average is close to 4 inches, we are currently at .007 however there is rain in our forecast for the next ten days. If the forecast is correct it doesn’t appear as if we will have any snow for the remainder of the year.  I actually wouldn’t mind some snow while I’m off work, especially around the holidays.  It always seems more like the holidays when there is snow around.  I’m not sure about anyone else but I have a hard time getting into a holiday mood when it is 70° outside….I’m looking forward to cooler weather.  I know, be careful what you ask for and I very well could have jinxed everything…but I’m tired of heat, I would like some cooler weather now please.

I am thinking…that five more days and a wake up I will be off for 19 days!  Yes, 19 days….and just in case I didn’t say that right ~ in 5 days I will be off!  Woo Hoo!  I won’t be going back to work until January 3rd of next year!  It was originally the 2nd of the January but the governor gave us an extra day off.  Major relaxing time here folks…major!

I am glad…I finally got all of the lights off my pre-lit tree.  I’m not going to lie, there was more than a few times I thought of tossing the entire thing out the back door….extremely tedious does not even come close to describing how it was.

I am going…to enjoy my major relaxing time. I will be doing some projects around the house and getting ready for Christmas but I need a break from the day in and day out routine of going to work.  I’m tired of working…too many years….and I’m pretty sure I could get use to retirement without any difficulty but unfortunately that is a few years off.  Sigh.

I am hoping…that during my time off I can get organized once again.  I’m beginning to wonder if I have adult ADD or just too much on my mind all the time.  I’m so easily distracted lately it isn’t even funny…and a bit more forgetful than I care to be.  It is time to organize once again….it has been a while since I did that.

I am hearing…the ticking of many clocks….a commercial on television for Disney….the hum of the refrigerator….the dog lapping water in the kitchen.

Plans for the week include…working like a lunatic to get everything caught up before I go out for 19 DAYS!   It will also include working from home on Tuesday….putting together a slide show of the departmental Christmas party photos to show at the party this year….and photographing this year’s party on the 14th.
