Outside My Window

Outside My Window ~ 5.9.10

Outside My Window…is a fabulous Mother’s Day!  There are blue skies, a few puffy white clouds here and there, a slight breeze and a temperature of  64º F at 12:26 p.m..  It is beautiful….perfect.  🙂

I am thinking…about all the outside chores I will be doing today.  Number one is I’m gong to be preparing my area for the new rain barrel.  I’m also thinking sawing my metal downspout so I may put the rain barrel beneath it is going to be skin crawling.  I have to use a hacksaw and I can hear it now….it won’t be a pleasant sound I’m sure.

I am thankful for…many things at the moment.  The first thing that comes to mind is I was able to wish my mother a Happy Mother’s Day with a hug.  I’m sending a virtual hug to Nina ~ my other mom.  I’m also thankful for my two beautiful daughters ~ without them I would be unable to celebrate this day officially.  They have lit up my life since the day they were born and continue to do so each day.  I’m a much better person because of them.

From the kitchen…is not so much now.  We gathered at Cracker Barrels this morning to have breakfast with my mother, my sister and her husband.  We got a most excellent table ~ extra large and in an out of the way corner.  It almost felt as if we were in our own little room…..felt a little more private than out in the masses.  There was too much food and much laughter this morning.  A great way to begin my day!  🙂

I am creating…a place to relax and enjoy the summer…..my backyard garden.  I have some work to do today which should be pretty close to completing what I want to do.

I am going…to work outside most of the day today.  I can’t pass up a day like today ~ the humidity is low as well so even working in the sun won’t be unbearable.

I am hoping…that all of the mothers reading this message today have a happy and wonderful Mother’s Day!  May you have many, many more.  And everyone else, I hope your Sunday is special as well.

I am hearing…my daughter’s clothes in the dryer….”The Notebook” on DVD (did anyone else cry when they saw that movie?)….the ticking of my many clocks.

Around the house…who cares ~ it’s Mother’s Day and I’m not even looking.   🙂

Plans for the week include…celebrating my baby girls 16th birthday!  And there was a time when she believed birthdays were cause for a week long celebration ~ not so much any more.  I’m not sure what else I will be doing right at the moment…..to many other thoughts filling my brain.

One of my favorite things…I have so many in my mind right now, it is difficult to pick just one right now.  Beautiful spring days rank up there pretty high right now.

A picture I’d like to share with you…self explanatory ~ have a good one everyone!  🙂

I’m glad you enjoyed your Mothers Day. From the little things you have said in your blog it sounds like you have raised them mainly by yourself. If so you deserve even more of a pat on the back than anyone else.
